SVH Swim Legends

Sabino Vista Hills Swim team has created many great and notable members of their community.  This page is intended to tell their stories.  If you know of an SVH swimmer who has made an impact in their community, please contact the web master and provide their details!

Coach Mason Harrison

2013

Mason Harrison swam with SVH for 11 years from 2004 to 2013.  After graduating, Mason went on to coach the Sunnyside High School Swim Team, after which Coach Chris invited him to rejoin SVH as an Assistant Coach in 2015.  Mason brought a balance that Coach Chris relied upon to provide valuable feedback and changes to the SVH swim program.  Coach Chris credits the repeated successes of the team to Coach Mason's hard work and talents as a coach.

While coaching, Mason also developed his IT skills, and after eight successful years working with Coach Chris at SVH, he chose to move on after the 2023 season to focus on his IT career.  SVH wishes Mason all the best and celebrates the positive effects he has had on the many hundreds of swimmers he coached while with the team.

Dr. Eric Wagner

2004

Dr. Eric Jameson Wagner graduated with honors from the University of Arizona. He then moved to Chicago where he worked for the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, a world-class rehabilitation hospital. He interacted directly with individuals recovering from traumatic spinal cord injuries. This sparked an intense love in sports medicine that led him to completing a master’s program at Loyola University, medical school at Midwestern University, and a physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at the University of Texas Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.  Dr. Wagner passed away at the age of 36 in 2023.
